Tensions in Nazareth mount over militant Muslims’ push for a mosque

      NAZARETH, Israel (BP)--A simmering controversy over the construction of a mosque next to the largest church in the Middle East is threatening to divide Nazareth's Muslim and Christian communities, which have lived together peacefully for hundreds of years, CNSNews.com reports.
    Moderate Muslims and Christians there say it is up to the Israeli government to put a stop to the construction of the mosque by a radical group known as the Islamic Movement and prevent the rift from occurring.
