Greenway to graduates: ‘Make the most of the time’

FORT WORTH, Texas (BP) – On what President Adam W. Greenway called a “high, holy” day, Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (SWBTS) and Scarborough College celebrated 294 certificate, bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral students during its spring commencement ceremony Friday (May 7), of whom 210 were present.

SWBTS, Dallas Baptist University announce joint MDiv/MBA degree

FORT WORTH, Texas (BP) – Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (SWBTS) and Dallas Baptist University (DBU) have partnered together to offer a joint Master of Divinity/Master of Business Administration degree, the institutions' presidents announced today during a signing event on the seminary’s Fort Worth campus.

Rebekah Naylor named first female distinguished professor at SWBTS

FORT WORTH, Texas (BP) -- Rebekah Ann Naylor, a longtime medical missionary to India, has been appointed distinguished professor of missions in the Roy J. Fish School of Evangelism and Missions at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, the school’s administration announced today (Aug. 20). She is the first woman ever to hold such a position at the seminary.

SWBTS to host prayer, town halls amid pres. search

FORT WORTH, Texas (BP) -- Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary's presidential search committee has formed an advisory committee of faculty, staff and students to support them in their work. The committee will assist in two ways, according to a Southwestern news release: "(1) They will gather for several prayer meetings, and (2) they will hold several town hall meetings in order to allow students, staff, and faculty to voice their opinions regarding what characteristics they would like to see in the institution's next president." The first prayer meeting was held today (Sept. 12) on the Fort Worth, Texas, campus. Members of the Southwestern family were invited to gather to seek God's face and ask for His guidance throughout the search process. Other prayer meetings are scheduled for Oct. 10 and Oct. 15.
