Harrowing night of ministry follows day of music & drama

MOBILE, Ala. (BP)--They left the University of Mobile at 11:30 a.m. on a Sunday morning dressed in matching polos and jeans. They arrived back at the campus at 6 a.m. Monday morning, exhausted, covered in diesel fuel, and sobered by a brush with death. One group member described it as "a day I'll never forget."

      MOBILE, Ala. (BP)--A group of students from the University of Mobile recently packed their bags, loaded into vans and hit the road looking forward to a great weekend. They weren't anticipating an exciting concert or spending the weekend at some relaxing getaway. In fact, they knew the next 48 hours would leave them physically exhausted and sleep-deprived, just in time for another week of grueling classes.
      The group of 85 students left Mobile, Ala., and traveled across the Southeast to spend the weekend meeting the needs of countless men and women during the university's annual "Urban Plunge."

University of Mobile students take God’s love to the streets

MOBILE, Ala. (BP)--A convoy of cars leaves the warmth of the campus of the University of Mobile each Wednesday night, filled with college students who embark on a journey to face a cold night, some cold stares, some warm hearts, and very hungry souls. These UM students, equipped with peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, Kool-aid, coats, blankets, smiles and the love of God, walk the streets of downtown Mobile to share the love of Jesus Christ with area homeless men and women.
