Arizona Baptists celebrate record missions giving

QUEEN CREEK, Ariz. (BP) -- During the 91st annual meeting of Arizona Southern Baptist Convention (AZSBC), messengers heard about record missions giving in 2018, adopted a 2020 budget that will send more to Southern Baptist Convention causes for the sixth straight year and were called to a year of prayer in 2020. "One Voice in Prayer ... in Witness ... in Mission" was the theme of the meeting held at Heart Cry Church in Queen Creek, Ariz., Nov. 15. It was attended by 278 messengers and 89 registered guests from 118 of Arizona Southern Baptists' 464 churches.

Ariz. So. Baptists climb toward 50/50 CP split

PHOENIX (BP) -- During their 90th annual meeting, Arizona Southern Baptists affirmed an updated vision statement leading up to the convention's centennial in 2028 and adopted a 2019 budget that will send more to Southern Baptist Convention causes. They also were challenged to love their ministry partners as they advance the Gospel together. "Fruitful" was the theme of the meeting held Nov. 16 at Foothills Baptist Church in Phoenix. It was attended by 291 messengers and 44 registered guests from 125 of Arizona Southern Baptists' approximately 470 churches. Budget & officers Messengers adopted a $4,921,356 operating budget for 2019, a $58,340 or 1.2 percent increase over 2018. The operating budget includes $3,476,000 in anticipated Cooperative Program giving from churches, up $136,000 or 4.1 percent from 2018.

Ariz. So. Baptists increase CP, report church planting

TUCSON, Ariz. (BP) -- During their 89th annual meeting, Arizona Southern Baptists were challenged to multiply disciples, leaders and churches for the sake of the lost in their cities. Looking beyond Arizona, messengers adopted a 2018 budget that will send more to Southern Baptist Convention causes. "Multiply" was the theme of the meeting held at First Southern Baptist Church of Tucson, Ariz., Nov. 17. It was attended by 243 messengers and 36 registered guests from 99 of Arizona Southern Baptists' 460 churches.

Arizona Baptists focus on CP, Centennial Vision

SURPRISE, Ariz. (BP) -- During their 88th annual meeting, Arizona Southern Baptists celebrated what God is doing in their state, heard how the Cooperative Program undergirds that work and adopted a 2017 budget sending more to Southern Baptist Convention causes.
