Remembering America’s fallen

ATLANTA (BP)--In every generation wars are neither desired nor welcomed. We are devastatingly reminded again and again that pain, death and destruction are always left in their wake.

Resurrection power

ATLANTA (BP)--In Philippians 3:10-11 the Apostle Paul said: "I want to know Christ and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in His sufferings, becoming like Him in His death, and so, somehow to attain to the resurrection from the dead."

Ambassadors for Christ

ATLANTA (BP)--Our Bible is full of truth from God. It speaks about the nature of God, His purposes and His ways.

Christ is our hope

ATLANTA (BP)--The 2008 new year has already ushered in with it enormous challenges for every believer.       The appalling violence of global terrorism among our nations is ever increasing and widening.

A true call for revival

ATLANTA (BP)--I've heard many "calls" for revival recently but with very little teaching and exposition on revival. It seems that in these urgent days there are too few leaders who actually are leading God's people corporately to repent, pray, seek holiness and return to God.

Why revival tarries

ATLANTA (BP)--Ezekiel 18:31b-32 is the heart cry of God to His covenant people, Israel: "'... why should you die, O house of Israel? For I have no pleasure in the death of one who dies,' says the Lord God. 'Therefore, turn and live!'"

A friendly reminder

ATLANTA (BP)--In Luke 18:1-8 Jesus reminds us "that men always ought to pray and not lose heart" And to illustrate this, He spoke a parable about a persistent, helpless widow who sought justice from her adversary.

FIRST-PERSON: It’s time to believe God

ATLANTA (BP)--Faith, or belief, can only operate in the present. It takes no faith to believe what has been –- that’s settled. Likewise, it takes no faith to believe what God can do, for with God all things are possible. Faith functions in what you believe God is going to do right now.

FIRST-PERSON: Measuring the worth of a year

ATLANTA (BP)--Life is very short, at best. It passes quickly, and it is uncertain at all times. “It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away” (James 4:14). David understood this all too well and pleaded unto the Lord:

FIRST-PERSON: Night is coming

ATLANTA (BP)--We live in a world of artificial light in so many ways. If we go to a ballgame and nighttime is approaching, we watch as the stadium lights come on in the transition, and we are led to believe that daytime still exists. In essence, we are deceived about the night because of the “artificial light.”
