FIRST-PERSON:
Will Southern Baptists keep their eyes on the ball?

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (BP)--Think about how many sports involve a ball. There’s baseball, golf, football, soccer, basketball, volleyball, rugby and cricket, just to name a few. FIRST-PERSON: It is His story

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (BP)--A number of years ago as I was coming out of Old Town Mombasa, Kenya, our team saw an old blind man feeling his way along a wall across the street. We went to him and shared the Gospel. When we finished he asked, "If this is true, why have you waited so long to tell me?"

FIRST-PERSON: Second generation syndrome

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (BP)--Gary Inrig wrote a wonderful book entitled "Hearts of Iron, Feet of Clay"(Moody Press, 1979) which was a detailed study of the book of Judges. One of the issues he quickly raised in the book was what he called "The Second Generation Syndrome." In that early chapter of his book he discussed the difficulty of passing on our vision and convictions to our children and grandchildren. It is a daunting and challenging task for any parent, and it is rare for the faith of parents to be handed down to succeeding generations.

FIRST-PERSON: They are praying, watching & waiting; what’s our response?

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (BP)--The interview was wrapping up when a reporter with the International Mission Board asked a prominent leader in the rapidly expanding Chinese house church movement how American Christians could pray for house churches in China. “Stop praying for persecution in China to end,” he responded, “for it is through persecution that the church has grown.”
