Global senders commit to be ‘stronger together’
The melody was the same, but the voices united in worship sang in numerous languages. “Then sings my soul,” sang a group in Arabic. Deaf believers lifted hands to sign “My Savior, God to thee, how great Thou Art.” The diverse group of worshipers praised in styles unique to their culture. Their praise, however, was joined to honor one God and their reason to gather was for one purpose — to ask God to send more missionaries from all nations to all nations.

IMB trustees celebrate good news, strong financial outlook
RICHMOND, Va. (BP) – International Mission Board trustees approved the appointment of 72 full-time, fully funded missionaries during their Sept. 27-28 meeting near Richmond. The missionaries participated in a Sending Celebration Wednesday evening, hosted by Swift Creek Baptist Church in Midlothian, Va.
Strength of globalization reflected in IMB’s partnership with Korean Baptists
RICHMOND, Va. (BP) – IMB staff welcomed 12 representatives of the Korea Foreign Mission Board to their home office in Richmond Aug. 22. The visit was an opportunity for Korean leaders to tour the facility and hear more about current operations and advancements at the International Mission Board. Discussion was built around sharing ideas and learning from each other as the partnership between the two mission boards grows.
Global Missions Center at NOBTS strengthens IMB partnership, provides service opportunities
NEW ORLEANS (BP) – Students at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary have greater access to opportunities to reach the nations through the newly renovated Global Missions Center. The center is housed in the Fred Luter, Jr. Student Center at NOBTS and Leavell College, recently named in honor of the prominent pastor and first African American president of the Southern Baptist Convention.
Support of IMB gives home team advantage, Chitwood says
NEW ORLEANS (BP) – Paul Chitwood, president of the International Mission Board, started IMB’s report to the 2023 Southern Baptist Convention Annual Meeting with a request. He asked the more than 11,000 messengers if they would record a greeting to missionaries overseas to be shared in a monthly online meeting of IMB field personnel and staff. The crowd enthusiastically participated with applause and cheers.
