SOUTH ASIA (BP) -- Zoya's* family life was a mess. She had fallen in love with a Hindu man, and consequently, her Muslim family disowned her. As the years went by, she became the mother of two and a dutiful Hindu. But her marriage suffered when her husband Azad* began drinking too much. A friend brought Zoya to the home of Baptist workers, where Zoya found a job as a language tutor. As she taught the couple, Zoya heard stories from a children's Bible. EUROPE (BP) -- She is a ball of energy with laugh lines deeply engraved at the corners of her eyes. And she is one of millions living in an Eastern European metropolis, but one of only a few pastors' wives in her city. A few years ago, Tanya* and her husband moved to the city to start their now-thriving church of 30 to 40 members. They are part of a church planting movement of at least six new churches in about three years -- church growth that is extremely unusual here after the tumult of Soviet repression.
