Editors meet to ‘press on’ in Kingdom communication

CHARLESTON, S.C. (BP) -- Members of the Association of State Baptist Publications learned from university professor and author Penelope Muse Abernathy during their annual meeting in Charleston, S.C. The ASBP meeting "gives those who lead state Baptist newspapers and other publications the opportunity to discuss opportunities and challenges faced in today's ever-changing publishing environment," said Tim Yarbrough, editor/executive director of the Arkansas Baptist News and 2018-19 president of ASBP, an organization founded in 1895.

Baptist women, called to communicate, hold key roles

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (BP) -- Just as Jesus affirmed first-century women, calling them to confess Him as Lord and tell the good news of the Gospel, He continues to call women in the 21st century to communicate His story to the world. Many women communicators today are answering that call, serving in denominational "seats of influence," a term Southern Baptist Convention President J.D. Greear used in his post-election press conference during the SBC annual meeting in Dallas.
