2 web industry experts join Pastors.com staff

LAKE FOREST, Calif. (BP)–In its efforts to serve 150,000 pastors in 117 countries, Pastors.com has hired web industry experts Dave Thoma and Mike Duggan.

Thoma is Pastors.com’s new director of interactive services and Duggan is director of technical services for the website founded by Saddleback Valley Community Church pastor Rick Warren, author of “The Purpose Driven Church.” The website is designed to resource, train and support pastors, missionaries and ministers around the world.

Before coming to Pastors.com, Dave Thoma (pronounced “tome — a”) served as executive producer of iBelieve.com, where he was responsible for all content development. He will fill a similar role at Pastors.com, in addition to coordinating all marketing and promotion efforts.

Thoma noted, “Rick Warren once commented that, ‘Pastors are the most under-rated change agents in the world today,’ and so my passion is to see them supported through community-building tools from Pastors.com.”

Duggan will oversee the technical side of the Pastors.com website. Previously, he was a principal consultant for the Internet solutions consulting team at Smith Micro Software and QuickStart Technologies.

“By serving pastors, we are also serving their flocks,” Duggan said, “and it’s rewarding to know that so many lives can be touched as our efforts are magnified.”

Bucky Rosenbaum, chief executive officer of Pastors.com, said, “As one of the early pioneers in this industry, Dave Thoma brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise that will allow us to build community and strengthen relationships among pastors and ministers worldwide. And with the awesome task of serving pastors and ministers around the world, it’s critical that our systems, equipment and programs stay up and running around the clock. Mike Duggan’s primary role here will be to assure that our doors remain open and that our site is functioning 24-7-365.”

Thoma lives in Carlsbad, Calif., with his wife and three children. Duggan lives in Irvine, Calif., with his wife and three children.
