5/27/97 James Warren joins staff of Foreign Mission Board

RICHMOND, Va. (BP)–James D. Warren, a national leader in Southern Baptist missions education, joined the staff of the Southern Baptist Foreign Mission Board in May.
Warren wrote and edited Royal Ambassador materials and planned national training events for the Southern Baptist Brotherhood Commission in Memphis, Tenn., for 12 years. In his position with the Foreign Mission Board, he will assist missions leaders at every level of Southern Baptist life in planning and conducting global missions festivals and conferences.
“James’s creativity in communicating the missions story make him a real asset for the Foreign Mission Board,” said Wendy Norvelle, the board’s associate vice president for public relations. “His broad-based denominational experience and strong organizational skills will be valuable in mobilizing Southern Baptists for world missions.”
Warren is a graduate of Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee, Okla., and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Fort Worth, Texas. He and his wife, the former Susan Garrett, have two sons, William and David.
