ALPHARETTA, Ga. (BP)–Georgia Christian Index associate editor James Dotson will join the North American Mission Board staff Aug. 1 as a news and information specialist.
Dotson has worked for the Index since 1992. In his new position he primarily will write news and feature stories about home missions for Baptist Press, the Southern Baptist Convention’s daily news service.
Prior to joining the Index staff, Dotson worked for the Augusta Chronicle/Herald in Augusta, Ga. He served as a copy editor in 1987 and then state beat reporter and religion writer.
Dotson received a bachelor’s degree in journalism in 1985 from Auburn University in Alabama. He and his wife, Amy, have twin, two-year old sons.
