[1]

ATLANTA (BP)–“Equipping the Church to Engage the Culture” will be the theme of the Baptist Association of Christian Educators’ 50th anniversary celebration Feb. 24-26 at Second Ponce de Leon Baptist Church in Atlanta.

The association, founded in 1956 as the Southern Baptist Religious Educators Association, seeks to build bridges among religious education professionals to give a growing branch of church ministry recognition and a vehicle for the exchange of ideas.

With more than 1,300 members, BACE brings together church education ministers, workers from various Baptist national and state conventions and regional associations, administrators involved in Christian education, students and people from other professional interests.

George Gallup Jr., D. Michael Lindsay and Sue Mallory will be featured speakers at the annual meeting.

Gallup, chairman of the George H. Gallup International Institute in Princeton, N.J., is one of America’s premier pollsters. For nearly 50 years, he has surveyed the religious, social and political landscape in America on numerous topics of cultural significance.

Lindsay is a popular speaker and consultant with expertise on the role of religion in public life. He has co-authored two books with Gallup exploring the relationship between religion and culture, “The Gallup Guide: Reality Check for 21st Century Churches” and “Surveying the Religious Landscape.”

Mallory has served as an adjunct professor at Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary in California.
