Baptist Press to provide news for California radio station

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (BP)–The national news service of the Southern Baptist Convention will begin providing national news coverage for KDUV, a contemporary Christian radio station based in Fresno, Calif., and ministering to the central and southern San Joaquin Valley.

Baptist Press radio news will feature in-depth reporting on issues of national interest from a Christian worldview, said Will Hall, vice president for convention news and executive editor of Baptist Press. BP assistant editor Todd Starnes will be coordinating radio coverage for the news service.

“We’re looking forward to the opportunity of introducing California listeners to our news coverage,” Hall said. “This is a tremendous opportunity for Baptist Press to reach out to people by providing a radio version of the national and international news they read on our website.”

KDUV’s mission statement is to use the radio to evangelize, encourage, edify and educate listeners from a biblical perspective.

Baptist Press also provides national news analysis for the Christian Hit Radio network. Christian Hit Radio is heard in four states and 21 southern cities including Nashville, Tenn., Montgomery, Ala., West Palm Beach and Fort Myers, Fla.
