NASHVILLE, Tenn. (BP)–In the largest online chat hosted to date by LifeWay Christian Resources of the Southern Baptist Convention, more than 130 people signed on July 18 to discuss leading effective Bible studies for women with nationally known author and speaker Beth Moore.

The one-hour event was the first online appearance in a LifeWay discussion for Moore, founder of Living Proof Ministries Inc. and author of Bible studies such as “Jesus the One and Only.” It was hosted by LifeWay’s E-business group.

Topics of discussion included confidentiality issues in small groups, meeting needs of women at all levels of spiritual maturity and employing Bible studies as a means of outreach for the church, said Richard Ryan, online community editor in the E-business group.

“Beth’s warm, conversational style created an atmosphere where participants felt free to ask questions and participate in the discussion,” Ryan said. “LifeWay’s online discussion area is one of the best means available for church leaders and members to receive inspiration and ‘right-now’ practical help for their ministries.”

LifeWay’s online chats are planned to allow real-time discussions among ministry professionals and lay leaders interested in learning more about a particular topic, Ryan said. Also, church members and leaders may exchange ideas and questions in the LifeWay Community at http://community.lifeway.com.

Other upcoming discussions and topics include:
