Book on expository preaching among 5 B&H October releases

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (BP)–Broadman & Holman Publishers is releasing five books in October with subjects ranging from healing emotional damage to inspirational preaching. B&H is the trade publishing arm of LifeWay Christian Resources of the Southern Baptist Convention.

General nonfiction

Inspired Preaching by C. Richard Wells and A. Boyd Luter calls for the renewal of expository preaching by telling the stories of biblical preachers who spoke from their hearts.

Anchors of Hope, a first book by Sandi Banks, a leader with Summit Ministries, points readers to Christ as the “anchor” or one who can heal emotional damage that results from divorce, family problems or betrayal in childhood.

Lord, Make My Life a Miracle by Ray and Anne Ortlund describes how they were successful in challenging their congregation at Lake Avenue Congregational Church in Pasadena, Calif., to commit to God, the church and to God’s work.

Safe & Sound by Steve Hayes, minister of counseling at Two Rivers Baptist Church, Nashville, Tenn., challenges ministers to grapple with tough issues like honesty, integrity and vulnerability in an effort to strengthen their character.

Home at Last by Bonnie Leon, the third and final installment in “The Matanuska Series,” continues to follow the character, Luke, as he realizes he has been running from God, then returns home to Alaska to make peace with his past.
