[1]NASHVILLE, Tenn. (BP)–Broadman & Holman Publishers is releasing a series of TruthQuest student Bible products and a novel by Michael Farris this month. B&H is the trade publishing division of LifeWay Christian Resources of the Southern Baptist Convention.
The TruthQuest Inductive Student Bible is based on the New Living Translation and was created by Steve Keels, pastor of student ministries at Good Shepherd Community Church, Boring, Ore. The book grows out of nearly three decades of Keels’ work with youth — getting to know and understand their language. His current ministry includes a combined weekly attendance of 700 students.
Non Fiction
The TruthQuest series being released this month includes:
— “TruthQuest Survival Guide: The Quest Begins” by Steve Keels, an interactive workbook to help new believers in Christ develop a firm foundation in the fundamentals of the Christian faith.
— “TruthQuest Prayer Journal,” designed to encourage the student to write down his or her prayer thoughts. Each section begins with a short thought on prayer, followed by back-to-back pages of blank space. Sections also contain Scripture, quotes and classic prayers from past Christian heroes.
[2]— “TruthQuest Devotional Journal,” containing pages of Bible study and open-ended questions that will walk students through 70 devotional passages, with room included for writing down thoughts. Also in the book are sample journal entries from great Christians of the past, plus articles on prayer and more.
— “TruthQuest Inductive Student Bible with Expedition Case” is the TruthQuest paperback Bible packaged it in a nylon carrying case with an embroidered logo, a bungee cord, storage pockets, a TQ logo zipper pull and a Holman logo tag.
Fiction
“Forbid Them Not” by Michael Farris centers around new government legislation that limits a parent’s ability to teach fundamental Christianity, spank their children or make education decisions for a child. In the novel, actions are brought against two families and a battle in the Virginia Supreme Court ensues. Farris is chairman of the Home School Legal Defense Association.
