Broadman & Holman atlas wins Gold Medallion award

NEW ORLEANS (BP)–For the fourth year in a row, a Broadman & Holman book took home a Gold Medallion Award July 8 from the Evangelical Christian Publishers Association.

The awards were presented during the 2000 Christian Booksellers Association meeting in New Orleans.

The “Holman Bible Atlas” by Thomas V. Brisco won a Gold Medallion Award in the reference works/commentaries category during the 23rd annual competition. Brisco is a faculty member at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Fort Worth, Texas.

Categories ranged from Bibles to reference works to fiction and Christian living. Five titles are nominated within each category, and books are judged on content, literary quality, design and significance of the contribution.

Four books published by B&H were selected as finalists in the 2000 Gold Medallion Awards competition. The others were “New American Commentary, Vol. 6: Judges, Ruth” by Daniel Block (reference works/commentaries); “Marriage God’s Way” by Henry Brandt & Kerry L. Skinner (marriage); and “A Heart Like His” by Beth Moore with Dale McCleskey (Bible study).

Broadman & Holman is the trade publishing division of LifeWay Christian Resources of the Southern Baptist Convention.
