BSSB names Sid Woodruff as men’s ministry leader

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (BP)??In assuming a new ministry assignment as part of the Southern Baptist Convention’s “Covenant for a New Century” restructuring, the Baptist Sunday School Board has named Sid Woodruff to assist churches in men’s ministries.
Woodruff, former pastor of West Conroe Baptist Church, Conroe, Texas, assumed responsibility as men’s ministry specialist for the Nashville, Tenn.,?based board Sept. 16.
“Sid desires to see men come to an intimate relationship with the Heavenly Father,” said Jay Johnston, manager of the training and enrichment section in the discipleship and family development division, the BSSB area where men’s ministry is housed.
“We are trusting that God will use Sid to develop multipliers for assisting churches in men’s ministry. Sid hopes to help churches establish a variety of entry points in which the church can reach and minister to men,” Johnston continued.
Woodruff, pastor of the West Conroe church since 1984, received a master of divinity degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Fort Worth, Texas, in 1977. A native of Waco, Texas, he is married to Julia Jordan Woodruff. They have two children, Jordan and Lauren.
