Chinese pastors set St. Louis fellowship event

ST. LOUIS (BP) — Chinese Southern Baptist pastors and leaders will host a dinner and fellowship in St. Louis in conjunction with the Southern Baptist Convention’s annual meeting in June, but will conduct its business at its biennial meeting this fall in Vancouver, B.C.

The Chinese Baptist Fellowship (CBF) of the United States and Canada expects as many as 40 pastors to attend the St. Louis dinner June 14 at 4:30 p.m., said Peter Leong, fellowship liaison officer. Those gathered will hear an update on church planting and ministry initiatives, Leong said.

The fellowship continues to focus on church planting, and will support the launch of the Asian American National Fellowship, where the Chinese Baptist Fellowship’s church planting specialist Ted Lam will speak.

Vancouver Chinese Baptist Church in Vancouver will host the 19th Biennial Conference Sept. 27–29 from 7 a.m.–9:30 p.m. daily. Themed “Thy Kingdom Come,” the event will include business meetings, the election of officers, Bible studies and workshops focusing on topics including biblical marriage.

The conference will include a revival at Immanuel Baptist Church in Vancouver at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 27 and 28, with preaching by Ian Buntain, lead teaching pastor of the host church. Workshop and Bible study leaders will include Buntain and Albert Ting, senior pastor of First Chinese Baptist Church of Walnut, Calif., and former president of Singapore Bible College in Singapore.

A registration form for the Vancouver meeting is available at cbfusacanada.org/2016CBFRegistrationForm.pdf.
