NASHVILLE, Tenn. (BP)–Christian Single magazine won a top national award in early May at the Evangelical Press Association’s annual convention.
The magazine, published by the Baptist Sunday School Board’s discipleship and family magazine department and edited by Stephen Felts, claimed the best publication award in EPA’s denominational publications category. The award is the highest a publication can receive from EPA.
Additionally, Christian Single, which has a monthly circulation of 65,000, took second place in the general article category of awards called Higher Goals. Judged against every magazine from all groups, the winning article by Henry Cloud was titled, “Safe Place.”
In critiquing Christian Single for the best publication award, one judge wrote, “You have set the standard for reaching your target group. This is a very, very excellent magazine. I had to battle my 20-year-old to get the magazines back from her just so I could judge it. She’s a journalism major and a committed Christian. My compliments!”
Christian Single is an evangelical, lifestyles magazine that encourages single adults to integrate their Christian faith into their every day lives. The Evangelical Press Association has served as the primary evangelical publishing association of periodicals (magazines, newspapers, newsletters, journals) for more than 50 years.
