NASHVILLE (BP)–Broadman & Holman, the trade book division of LifeWay Christian Resources of the Southern Baptist Convention, has announced that its fall lineup of books will include a famous tough-guy actor and a former president’s kid.
“Against All Odds,” an autobiography by action movie and television star Chuck Norris, and “Twice Adopted” by Michael Reagan, adopted son of former President Ronald Reagan and his first wife, will be released in September.
Norris is writing the autobiography with Ken Abraham, coauthor of Lisa Beamer’s book, “Let’s Roll: Ordinary People, Extraordinary Courage.” In a story about winning out over life’s obstacles, Norris describes how he overcame being abandoned by an alcoholic father and how he lived in poverty and with debilitating shyness. In sharing his story, Norris credits God for his successes and talks about how faith plays a role in his life, on screen and off.
Reagan’s book, meanwhile, is both a political commentary and personal testimony. Topics in the book will range from homosexuality and marriage to the power of prayer. Five million listeners on more than 200 radio affiliates listen to his radio talk show, “The Michael Reagan Talk Show.”
Also available this fall: “Believing God” and “Believing God Devotional Journal” by Beth Moore and “The Religions Next Door: What We Need to Know about Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism and Islam and What Reporters are Missing” is by Marvin Olasky, editor-in-chief of World, a Christian newsmagazine.
B&H also will release “Experiencing God: Knowing and Doing the Will of God –- 15th Anniversary Edition” by Henry Blackaby and Claude King.
