
NASHVILLE (BP) – Cooperative Program giving in June was 3 percent below budget, reflecting a trend this fiscal year as year-to-date giving has held steady at roughly 3 percent below budget goals for several months.
Southern Baptists gave more than $14.5 million in undesignated receipts last month, bringing the year-to-date total to $141,224,321.92 – 2.77 percent below the year-to-date budget target of $145,250,000. Designated receipts for June were quite a bit above (44.45 percent) the same number from June 2024, though year-to-date totals are still short of last year’s.
June National Cooperative Program giving:
- Monthly budgeted amount: $15,000,000.00
- June 2025 giving: $14,556,441.01
- Above/below budget: $443,558.99 (2.96 percent) below budget
Total National Cooperative Program giving:
- Year-to-date budgeted amount: $145,250,000.00
- Year to date giving: $141,224,321.92
- Above/under budget: $4,025,678.08 (2.77 percent) below budget
Designated giving:
- June giving: $26,839,955.26
- Year to date giving: $173,594,029.19
- Previous year to date total: $183,261,644.70
- Above/below previous year: $9,667,615.51 (5.28 percent) below previous year
The Convention-adopted budget for 2024-2025 is $190,250,000 and includes a $250,000 special priority allocation for the SBC Vision 2025 initiative.
Cooperative Program funds are then disbursed as follows:
- 50.41 percent to international missions through the International Mission Board
- 22.79 percent to North American missions through the North American Mission Board
- 22.16 percent to theological education through the six SBC seminaries and the Southern Baptist Historical Library and Archives
- 2.99 percent to the SBC operating budget
- 1.65 percent to the Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission.
If national CP gifts exceed the budget projection at the end of the fiscal year, the balance of the overage is distributed according to the percentages approved for budgetary distribution. The SBC Executive Committee distributes all CP and designated gifts it receives on a weekly basis to the SBC ministry entities.
CP allocation budget gifts received by the Executive Committee are reported monthly to the executives of the entities of the convention, to the state convention offices, to the state Baptist papers and are posted online at sbc.net/cp.
