CP receipts 5% below budget for February

NASHVILLE (BP) – Cooperative Program giving was 5.05 percent below the budget goal in February, while designated giving was just over 7 percent below the same number from last year. Southern Baptists gave just over $18 million through CP during the fifth month of the fiscal year. The budget target was $19 million.

Year-to-date CP receipts are below budget by 3.46 percent at the end of the fifth month of the fiscal year. Designated receipts of $51.4 million in February were 7.07 percent below February 2024. Year-to-date designated giving is 4.17 percent below last year’s total at this point.

February National Cooperative Program giving:

• Monthly budgeted amount: $19,000,000.00
• February 2025 giving: $18,040,270.95
• Above/below budget: $959,729.05 (5.05 percent) below budget

Total National Cooperative Program giving:

• Year to date budgeted amount: $83,000,000
• Year to date giving: $80,126,615.64
• Above/under budget: $2,873,384.36 (3.46 percent) below budget

Designated giving:

• February giving: $51,400,583.73
• Year to date giving: $86,580,789.94
• Previous year to date total: $90,347,852.96
• Above/below previous year: $3,767,063.02 (4.17 percent) below previous year

The Convention-adopted budget for 2024-2025 is $190,250,000 and includes a $250,000 special priority allocation for the SBC Vision 2025 initiative.

Cooperative Program funds are then disbursed as follows:

• 50.41 percent to international missions through the International Mission Board
• 22.79 percent to North American missions through the North American Mission Board
• 22.16 percent to theological education through the six SBC seminaries and the Southern Baptist Historical Library and Archives
• 2.99 percent to the SBC operating budget
• 1.65 percent to the Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission.

If national CP gifts exceed the budget projection at the end of the fiscal year, the balance of the overage is distributed according to the percentages approved for budgetary distribution. The SBC Executive Committee distributes all CP and designated gifts it receives on a weekly basis to the SBC ministry entities.

CP allocation budget gifts received by the Executive Committee are reported monthly to the executives of the entities of the convention, to the state convention offices, to the state Baptist papers and are posted online at sbc.net/cp.
