[1]MARSHALL, Texas (BP)–As he watched his first football team at East Texas Baptist University go through its 10-game schedule last season, head coach Ralph Harris kept telling himself two things: stay positive and stay focused.
Positive in the fact that while his freshmen-laden team was getting bashed around week to week by more experienced squads in the American Southwest Conference, there were things to build on.
Those things included, among others, having the best punter in the conference (Scott Verhalen), the conference sack leader (Darel Johnson) and the conference leader in kickoff returns (Jabori Jackson).
