Evangelists again sponsor Sunday SBC worship service


NEW ORLEANS (BP)–Southern Baptist evangelists will again sponsor a Sunday morning worship service prior to the annual meeting of the Southern Baptist Convention.

This year’s worship will begin at 9:45 a.m. June 10 in the Grand Ballroom (rooms A-D) of the Hyatt Regency in New Orleans.

Richard Lee, pastor of First Redeemer Church, Cummings, Ga., and Keith Fordham, an evangelist from Fayetteville, Ga., will be the featured speakers.

Lee founded First Redeemer Church after many years as pastor of Atlanta’s Rehoboth Baptist Church, baptizing more than 12,000 people. Lee also is featured on “There’s Hope,” a TV and radio outreach that has earned Ministry of the Year honors from the National Religious Broadcasters.

Fordham is in his 27th year in fulltime evangelism, having preached in nearly 1,100 revivals. He is the current vice president of the Conference of Southern Baptist Evangelists, which is sponsoring the worship service.

Music for the worship service will be led by Les Snyder, leader of the Sons of the Father music evangelists from West Frankfort, Ill. Lois Jane Huddleston of Gallatin, Tenn., will be among the featured soloists.

The annual business meeting of the Conference of Southern Baptist Evangelists, at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 12, at the Holiday Inn Superdome, will be led by the conference’s president, Mike Osborne, an evangelist from Petersburg, Va.
