FamilyNet celebrates Easter with special programming


FORT WORTH, Texas (BP)–A number of Easter specials currently are being featured on FamilyNet, the cable network of the Southern Baptist North American Mission Board.

All times listed are ET:

— “Messiah Prophesy Fulfilled” — a rabbi sees the prophetic fulfillment of Yeshua, the Messiah, through the ancient Passover Seder: April 16, 7 p.m.; April 17, 12 a.m.

— “The Quest” — a journey to Gethsemane, Calvary, the garden tomb and other Holy Land sites exploring the evidences of Jesus and the fulfillment of more than 300 prophecies: April 16, 8 p.m.

— “He Chose the Nails with Max Lucado” — with music by Kim Hill, Natalie Grant, Wes King, Twila Paris, Jeff Deyo and the Oak Hills Choir: April 17, 8 p.m.; April 18, 1 a.m.; April 19, 8 p.m.

— “The Life of Jesus Christ” — the story of Jesus Christ dramatically and musically portrayed by a 250-voice choir, 40-piece orchestra and combined cast and crew of more than 1,000 at the First Baptist Church of Fort Lauderdale for 19 performances to a combined audience of more than 53,000 people: April 19, 7 p.m.

— “The Promise” — musical drama based on the life of Christ performed at the outdoor amphitheater in Glen Rose, Texas: April 18, 3 p.m.

— “The First Easter” — half-hour 3-D animated program telling the Easter story from the point of view of a 10-year-old orphan who encounters Mary Magdalene on the streets of Jerusalem: April 18, 5:30 p.m.; April 19, 10 a.m. Veteran stage actor Max McLean is featured as the voice of Jesus; contemporary Christian singer Rebecca St. James, the voice of Mary.

— “Upon This Rock” — Zola Levitt hosts a documentary about the significance of the Dome of the Rock in prophecy and different religions of today: April 18, 8 p.m.

— “He’s Alive” — a program that explores the five most popular theories as to whether Jesus really rose from the dead: April 19, 11 p.m.

— “A Life God Rewards” — six interviews of individuals who are living examples of “lives God will reward” and a message from Bruce Wilkinson: April 20, 3:30 p.m.
