FamilyNet radio programs reach 3.7 million weekly

[1]

FORT WORTH, Texas (BP)–More than 3.7 million people each week hear radio programs produced by the North American Mission Board’s FamilyNet broadcast ministry, according to recent nationwide reports by The Arbitron Co.
In two years the radio audience for the programming has grown at an unprecedented rate from 3.3 million listeners to 3.7 million. The programs include “The Baptist Hour,” “Country Crossroads,” “MasterControl,” “Powerline” and “On Track.”
David W. Clark, vice president of NAMB’s broadcast communications group, credits the overall audience growth to the blessing of God and a commitment to quality programming.
“With God’s help, these programs have attracted the largest weekly radio audience of any ministry programs in America,” he said.
The radio programs are distributed to 2,300 radio stations, 75 percent of which are secular. They are carried in 49 of the top 50 markets.
The Baptist Hour has aired since 1941, while MasterControl celebrated its 40th anniversary this year. Powerline and Country Crossroads both have a weekly listening audience of more than 1 million and recently celebrated their 30-year anniversaries. On Track began airing again in May 1998 after a one-year hiatus, and is now heard on nearly 200 stations.
