First ‘Courageous’ movie clips posted online

ALBANY, Ga. (BP)–It won’t be released until 2011, but the first clips from “Courageous,” the next movie from the makers of “Fireproof,” have been posted online.

The short clips are part of a five-minute video that includes behind-the-scenes views as well as interviews with actors, the director and producer, and Christian leaders. The video, called “The Heart of Courageous,” also was shown at the Southern Baptist Convention annual meeting in Orlando, Fla., and at the International Christian Retail Show in St. Louis. It can be viewed at CourageoustheMovie.com.

Courageous, the fourth film by Sherwood Baptist Church in Albany, Ga., will follow the story of four police officers and their attempt to be better fathers. Its budget of around $1 million is twice the size of that of Fireproof, the top independent film of 2008. The cast and crew wrapped up principal filming June 26.

The church’s earlier films were “Facing the Giants” (2006) and “Flywheel” (2003). All the films have been written by brothers Alex and Stephen Kendrick, who serve as director and producer, respectively.
