FIRST-PERSON: The fight for the unborn

[1]

LYNCHBURG, Va. (BP)–I know how much many of you hate the scourge of partial-birth abortion.

Here are two opportunities to act in the fight to ban this outrageous practice:

1) I want to encourage you to “sign” our online petition calling on your senators and the Senate leadership to pass a federal ban on partial-birth abortion right away. Click on www.falwell.com/pba.php to add your name to this petition.

2) I also want to urge you to forward this by e-mail immediately to your family, friends, co-workers, neighbors — and anyone else in your e-mail address book — so they can also sign the petition and join the fight against partial-birth abortion.

Let me explain to you where we stand in this important battle:

I thank God that our U.S. representatives passed H.R. 4965 — the Partial-Birth Abortion Act of 2002. This is a tremendous victory for the cause of the unborn!

But the Senate has yet to pass this legislation. And that is why you and I need to speak up — through this online petition campaign — to make our voices heard.

It is critical that Americans like you and me tell our senators what we truly believe about partial-birth abortion. And the more petitions we can generate, the better.

Your support is even more important because we can be sure the pro-abortion forces are already lobbying the Senate in opposition of a federal ban.

Please join me in taking a stand for millions of unborn children to protect them from the gruesome and torturous partial-birth abortion procedure.

President Bush has already agreed to sign a law banning partial-birth abortion if Congress passes it, so our current battle is in the Senate.

Thank you for taking up the cause of the unborn with me.
