BRENTWOOD, Tenn. (BP)–After more than twenty years in Baptist higher education, Michael Duduit has moved into a new role as president and chief executive officer of Preaching Resources, Inc., which publishes Preaching magazine and sponsors the web site “Preaching.com.”
Although Duduit founded and has directed the company for sixteen years, he has done so as a sideline to full-time roles as an administrator and instructor at Baptist educational institutions, most recently as Executive Vice President and Associate Professor of Christian Studies at Union University in Jackson, Tenn. Prior to that he served at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Ky., Samford University in Birmingham, Ala., and Palm Beach Atlantic College in West Palm Beach, Fla.
The most recent change was sparked by the sale of Preaching Resources, Inc., to iExalt, Inc., a Houston-based Christian media, services and technology company.
Duduit has served as editor of Preaching magazine since the magazine’s launch in 1985. Ten years later he created Preaching.com as a web-based resource for church leaders, including a digital publication entitled Preaching On-Line. The National Conference on Preaching began in 1989, and has provided professional development opportunities for hundreds of pastors through events in Atlanta, Orlando, Houston, Nashville, Dallas, Newport Beach and other cities. The first International Congress on Preaching was held in London’s Westminster Chapel in 1997.
A graduate of Southern Baptist Seminary and Stetson University, Duduit received the Ph.D. in Humanities from Florida State University. He is a former president of the Baptist Communicators Association, and is listed in Who’s Who in Religion and in the most recent issue of Who’s Who in America. He is author and editor of several books, including the “Handbook of Contemporary Preaching” (Broadman & Holman) and “Communicate With Power” (Baker Books).
