Founders Ministries breakfast to feature 2 Louisiana pastors


NEW ORLEANS (BP)–Louisiana pastors Bill Ascol and Joe Nesom will be the featured speakers for a Founders Ministries breakfast at 7 a.m. Tuesday, June 12, in the Louisiana Superdome, SW Quad Room 14, Loge Level.

Ascol, founding pastor of Heritage Baptist Church in Shreveport nine years ago and Founders Ministries’ chairman, will speak on “The Atonement of Christ and Evangelism.” Ascol additionally serves on the Louisiana Baptist Convention executive board and is editor of the Louisiana Inerrancy Fellowship’s newsletter.

Nesom, pastor of First Baptist Church, Jackson, La., for 18 years and a former professor at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, will speak on “Louisiana Grace: Louisiana Baptist Origins and the Doctrines of Grace.”

Founders Ministries is an organization that holds that the Southern Baptist Convention’s founders believed in the doctrines of grace, often called Calvinism.
