CHICAGO (BP)–He was 27, at the peak of his athletic career, and was playing in the pinnacle of a professional football player’s life: the Super Bowl. Leslie Frazier, star defensive back for the Chicago Bears, never imagined it would be his final game.
It was the culmination of the 1985 season. The Bears owned that year. They walloped the rest of the National Football League with a cast of characters that satisfied every big city’s craving for wackiness. Frazier was not one of those headline grabbers, but he certainly helped the show succeed on the field as an All-Pro cornerback.
