Georgetown football aims for 20th consecutive win

GEORGETOWN, Ky. (BP)–After a team goes undefeated and wins the national championship, is there really anything left to shoot for? The answer is a resounding yes if you ask Georgetown coach Bill Cronin.

“It’s a tough show to follow with the exceptional season we had last year,” Cronin said. “How can you do any better than go undefeated and win the national championship? Answer — do it twice. That is, of course, our new goal this year — ‘Why Not?’ We don’t see any reason why we couldn’t do it again. I really think the players believe that.”

The Georgetown players have already proven their determination this year, as the Tigers are looking for their 20th consecutive win this Saturday when they take on Lambuth University at 1:30 p.m. The 2000 national champions are 5-0 going into the contest and are led by senior quarterback Eddie Eviston.
