Global women’s meeting registration to increase for Sept. 19-21 event

HOUSTON (BP)–The registration fee for the Global Celebration for Women will increase Sept. 1 to $145 per person. Prior to then, the fee for the event, scheduled Sept. 19-21 at the Reliant Park Astrodome in Houston, is $125.

The three-day conference features six worship sessions, 40 workshops, a Christian shopping mall and the opportunity to network with women from around the globe.

Keynote speakers for the event are Anne Graham Lotz and Elizabeth Dole. Contemporary Christian singer Alicia Williamson is the worship leader for the celebration.

Among the workshop leaders will be speaker and author Beth Moore who will lead a session on women in the Bible in the main arena of the Astrodome on Thursday afternoon.

The event is sponsored by more than a dozen international women’s organizations including Aglow International; Campus Crusade for Christ Women Today; The Salvation Army Women’s Organization; World Evangelical Fellowship’s Commission on Women’s Concerns; and Woman’s Missionary Union, auxiliary to the Southern Baptist Convention.

June Whitlow, senior associate executive director for WMU and a member of the event’s steering committee, encourages Southern Baptist women to attend the celebration.

“I believe the celebration will be an wonderful experience for every woman who attends,” she said. “To worship and learn with 25,000 sisters in Christ from around the world will be a humbling and awe-inspiring experience.”
