Graham leaves hospital after pneumonia treatment

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (BP)–Evangelist Billy Graham was discharged from St. Luke’s Hospital, Jacksonville, Fla., Dec. 9 after a week-long stay for pneumonia.
“We have been very encouraged by Dr. Graham’s quick recovery,” said Charles Burger, Graham’s attending physician at the hospital, which is affiliated with the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minn.
Graham, 79, will continue a course of antibiotics, Burger said, “and we have suggested that he take it easy for the next few weeks to make sure that his infection completely resolves.”
Graham began experiencing fever, chills and discolored sputum about a week before entering the hospital Dec. 3. He had been on vacation in the Caribbean. He will spend the Christmas holidays at his North Carolina home.
