Help for hurting ministers available from LeaderCare

[1]

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (BP)–Through referrals, personal contacts and a 24-hour hotline, the LeaderCare staff discovers “a number of people who need help beyond a couple of phone calls or a few minutes following a seminar,” said Neil Knierim, manager of LifeWay Christian Resources’ personal development section.

LeaderCare provides a wide variety of services to ministers.

“We have more than 1,000 counselors available through our state convention network and 90 clergy care organizations through which we can get help for people who have severe needs,” Knierim said.

The LeaderCare hotline is a 24-hour-a-day service that receives about 3,000 calls each year. Needs range from having someone to listen and pray with callers to referral to a provider for intensive psychiatric care.

The toll-free hotline number is 1-888-789-1911. All calls are strictly confidential.

Additionally, The Minister’s Family Magazine is a quarterly publication from LifeWay to help ministers’ families cope with life at home and with day-to-day struggles, such as stress, marital relations, finances, loneliness and isolation in ministry.
