Inauguration of Jeff Iorg slated Oct. 11 at Golden Gate Seminary


MILL VALLEY, Calif. (BP)–Jeff P. Iorg will be installed as the seventh president of Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary on Oct. 11 at the Seminary’s Northern California campus in Mill Valley, Calif. Iorg was elected to the office in April and began serving as president in August.

Iorg came to Golden Gate from the Northwestern Baptist Convention in Vancouver, Wash., where he served as executive director-treasurer from 1995 to 2004. He is a graduate of Hardin-Simmons University (B.A.) in Abilene, Texas; Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (M.Div.) in Kansas City, Mo.; and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (D.Min.) in Fort Worth, Texas.

Born in Georgia, Iorg moved to Texas at the age of 3, where he lived until after college. At the age of 12, he prayed to receive Christ at the West Texas Regional Fair and has been actively living out his faith ever since.

Iorg and his wife, Ann, who have relocated to Mill Valley, have three children: Casey, Melody and Caleb. Casey, 20, is attending Black Hills State University. Melody, 17, and Caleb, 15, are students at Tamalpais High School.

Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary is a Cooperative Program ministry of the Southern Baptist Convention; its five campuses are located in Northern California, Southern California, the Pacific Northwest, Arizona and Colorado.
