Jane Blythe joins WMU as student ministry consultant

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (BP)–Jane Geggus Blythe is the new ministry consultant for Woman’s Missionary Union’s student resource team.

Blythe, who joined the staff in December, will lead in the development of future missions leaders as WMU seeks to expand missions involvement among high school and college students. As Blythe works with Southern Baptist churches around the country, she will serve as a resource for state WMU leadership as she develops models for missions education and involvement and provides training and leadership development.

Blythe comes to WMU after three years as a marketing and recruitment associate for the Southern Baptist North American Mission Board.

She holds a Master of Divinity degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas, and a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education from Union University in Jackson, Tenn.

Carol Causey, director of WMU’s missions resource center, said Blythe has “an incredible passion for involving students in missions. Her experience in marketing and recruitment complements our already strong student ministry staff.”

Blythe and her husband, Steve, reside in Birmingham, Ala. She is the daughter of George and Joy Geggus of Granite City, Ill., and considers Suburban Baptist Church in Granite City her home church.
