[1]ORLANDO, Fla. (BP)–A “joint ethnic fellowship” — to also encompass members of Anglo churches — will be held June 12 in connection with the Southern Baptist Convention’s June 13-14 annual meeting in Orlando, Fla.
“We’re hoping that both Anglos as well as ethnics can gain from this experience,” said James A. Austin, coordinator of the meeting and president of the North American Messianic Association of the SBC.
The meeting hopefully will encourage Anglos that “they need to be a part of ethnic work,” which spans 28 different fellowships, said Austin, rabbi at Petah Tikvah Congregation, Helena, Mont.
In addition to an open forum for questions and answers, ethnic speakers and music will be featured during the meeting, slated from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, June 12, in Room 304-G-H on Level 3 of the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando.
Also from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. June 12, members of the Multicultural Church Network will meet in Room 303-B on Level 3 of the convention center.
The meeting will be a time of fellowship, planning, promoting and presentations related to multicultural SBC churches.
