LifeWay honors seminary students with pastoral leadership awards

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (BP)–Eight graduating seminary theology students have received Pastoral Leadership Awards at their respective schools. LifeWay Christian Resources of the Southern Baptist Convention, in cooperation with the eight seminaries, bestowed the awards.

Award recipients and their respective schools are: Richard L. Baker, Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary; Page M. Brooks, New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary; Yoon Hyun Kim, Canadian Southern Baptist Theological Seminary; Mike Martin, Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary; Bartholomew Orr, Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary; Jim Perdue, Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary; Aaron M. Robb, Southern Baptist Theological Seminary; and Timothy J. Royal, Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary.

Henry Webb, director of LifeWay’s pastoral ministries area, said he is glad LifeWay has the opportunity to honor the students.

“Being able to do this strengthens LifeWay’s relationship with the seminaries,” Webb said. “The schools see this as a commitment from LifeWay in the training of future pastors. We are also proud to be establishing a lifelong relationship with these young pastors. It helps build a base for a future relationship between the churches and LifeWay.”

Each school’s president established a selection process for naming the recipient, Webb said.

Each student was presented with a plaque during an awards ceremony at his respective seminary. In addition, each recipient and his wife received an expense-paid trip to one of the Kingdom-Focused Church Weeks at either LifeWay Ridgecrest (N.C.) or LifeWay Glorieta (N.M.) conference centers.
