[1]NASHVILLE, Tenn. (BP)–LifeWayLINK, the Internet hosting service for ministries offered by LifeWay Christian Resources of the Southern Baptist Convention, has expanded to offer free, advanced websites for Southern Baptist associations.
Each local association is entitled to a professionally developed site with 20 pages, 15 MB of space, an e-mail account, advanced design templates and additional features. Associations may add extra pages and e-mail accounts for nominal fees.
The complimentary Internet resource is offered to further enhance interaction between associations and their member churches, said Gary McClure of LifeWay’s E-business group.
“Churches increasingly are turning to online communications,” McClure said, “and associations can use the advanced site to become better informed and respond quicker and more effectively to church needs.
“Some of the applications we are developing for associations are the ability to gather ongoing church information online and features to promote a community feel to the resource,” he added. “We’ll work closely with the organizations to get continuous feedback on enhancements and custom capabilities.”
Bob Franklin, director of associational strategy at the SBC North American Mission Board, believes a high-quality, dependable website can be a highly effective tool for associations to promote communications with member churches. “Just consider the ways a staff can communicate online with church leaders, other associations and with each other,” he said. “LifeWayLINK is worth a thorough examination even if an association already has a website.”
[2]LifeWay also will assist associations as they promote LifeWayLINK options to churches with resources such as presentations, postcards, articles and e-mail content. Associations that achieve 50 percent or more of member churches using LifeWayLINK will receive an upgrade to the most advanced LifeWayLINK site option.
More than 900 churches already have selected LifeWayLINK as their website provider.
