LifeWayonline change to new provider creates initial telephone congestion

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (BP)–LifeWayonline, the filtered Internet service offered by LifeWay Christian Resources of the Southern Baptist Convention, has signed an agreement with the nation’s largest filtered Internet company. The change to the new technology provider has resulted in a large volume of calls by customers to activate the upgraded service.

IntegrityOnline became the technology provider for LifeWayonline July 2, and response to the transition by customers has been positive and has created “an extremely high number of telephone calls by customers who want to activate the new service,” according to Tim Vineyard, E-Business director at LifeWay Christian Resources. “We understand the frustration customers may be facing during the initial change of service, but we believe the problem to be temporary and appreciate the loyalty and patience of our customers.”

The additions to LifeWayonline include better technical support staff, faster download times, connection reliability, increased local access numbers and more convenient customer sign-up.

“We are excited about the opportunity to work with IntegrityOnline,” said Vineyard, “Recent improvements in the infrastructure of IntegrityOnline will make LifeWayonline a better service for our customers than ever before.

“Our agreement with IntegrityOnline provides the same high-quality filter to protect families from unwanted exposure to offensive material including pornography, alcohol and drug use, gambling, weapons and bomb making, violence, hate/discrimination, profane language and selected chat sites.”

The new toll-free number for LifeWayonline is 1-866-896-5965. The number is answered Mondays through Fridays from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m., central time, and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., central time. Customer service representatives were scheduled to work throughout the July 4 holiday to meet customers needs.
