Longtime Baptist Press employee will edit LifeWay publication

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (BP)–Polly House, a longtime employee at Baptist Press, has resigned to become corporate communications specialist for LifeWay Christian Resources, according to a joint announcement by Baptist Press and LifeWay Sept. 8.
House, 43, is an editorial assistant with the Southern Baptist Convention’s national news service in the BP central office in Nashville, Tenn. An employee of the SBC Executive Committee for 17 years, House literally moves across the street from the SBC Building in downtown Nashville, Tenn., to LifeWay’s building.
“I am delighted to have a person of Polly’s competence, integrity and experience join our communications staff,” said Linda Lawson, director of communications for LifeWay. “She has made an outstanding contribution to Baptist Press through the years as well as honing her writing skills through freelance assignments. She and [her husband] Sam are wonderful parents and church members.”
House’s supervisor at Baptist Press, Herb Hollinger, echoed Lawson’s sentiment.
“Polly House has been an integral part of Baptist Press for nearly two decades. She is an outstanding employee and we wish her the very best,” said Hollinger, vice president for convention news at Baptist Press.
Morris H. Chapman, president and chief executive officer of the Executive Committee, also wished her well, adding: “She has been a valuable employee of the Executive Committee. She will be a real asset to LifeWay Christian Resources.”
As a specialist in the communications department of LifeWay, House will edit Facts & Trends, the LifeWay journal mailed 10 times per year to more than 60,000 church, associational, state and SBC leaders. She also will write news and feature stories related to the Sunday school group and national student ministry.
House leaves Baptist Press Sept. 23 and begins at LifeWay Oct. 1.
House and her husband have two boys: Tyler and Travis. Her husband is a consultant in LifeWay’s discipleship and family division, working primarily with Experiencing God products. They are active members of Crievewood Baptist Church, Nashville.
