Midwestern Seminary names new communications director

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (BP)–Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary has named Cory Miller as communications director.

Miller, 28, comes to MBTS from First Baptist Church of Broken Arrow, Okla., where he served as communications director for two and a half years.

Miller previously worked in print journalism for more than six years, serving at three Oklahoma daily newspapers and a collegiate sports magazine group.

“Cory Miller will be an enormous asset to MBTS,” said R. Philip Roberts, president of MBTS. “He is a very able and creative communications director as well as a committed Baptist.”

A native of Ardmore, Okla., Miller is completing his undergraduate degree at Southern Nazarene University-Tulsa and will finish in January 2005. Previously, Miller attended the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond, Okla., majoring in journalism/public relations.

At MBTS, Miller will oversee media relations, marketing and publications, including The Midwestern, MBTS’s alumni newsmagazine.

Miller and his wife, Jennifer, were married in March 2003.
