[1]ALPHARETTA, Ga. (BP)–A former state Brotherhood director and a bank vice president are among five new staff members announced by the North American Mission Board.
Joining NAMB as adult missions education strategist is Rob Carr, Brotherhood Services director for the Illinois Baptist State Association since 1989. Carr also was associate Brotherhood director for the Kentucky Baptist Convention from 1982-89. As adult missions education strategist, Carr will develop and recommend strategies for assisting Southern Baptist churches in planning missions education organizations and opportunities for adults. He is responsible for missions education of adult men, including Missions in Motion quarterly curriculum magazine. Carr is a graduate of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Louisville, Ky., with a master of religious education in missions.
Ron Ingram has joined the NAMB staff in Fort Worth, Texas, as producer of a new television show, “Gary McSpadden’s Gospel Jubilee.” The program, which will air in early fall, is a showcase for a broad grouping of Southern Gospel artists. Ingram graduated from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth in 1988 and served one year with the former Southern Baptist Radio and Television Commission. In 1989, he began as minister of media for Immanuel Baptist Church, Pine Bluff, Ark. For the last five years, Ingram has been the television production manager for Prestonwood Baptist Church, Dallas, and producer of the church’s national television broadcast ministry “PowerPoint Ministries.”
Rich Carney will join the NAMB staff June 16 as strategic cities planning coordinator, west. Carney is a former program manager with the U.S. Department of Energy and a former branch chief for the U.S. Department of State. He also served in active duty in the U.S. Army, including primary civil-military staff advisor to the VII Corps (three-star general) commander during Desert Storm. Carney is a master of divinity graduate of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Ky.
As strategic cities planning coordinator for the west, Carney will lead in developing high-impact, quick-strike missions strategies for cities strategically located in the western part of the United States.
Bob Moore has been named strategic cities planning coordinator, east. He has been serving as manager of partnership/site selection for the church-planting group since NAMB’s inception in June 1997. Moore served as state director of missions in Pennsylvania/South Jersey for two years and in the former Home Mission Board associational missions department for seven years. He is a master of divinity graduate of Southern Seminary.
Carney and Moore will work together with other SBC agencies and state conventions to enhance the role of strategic focus cities in missions development and will conduct research, write and publish materials that address issues confronting large metropolitan areas.
Karl Dietz has been named NAMB’s chief credit officer for the church loans team. As such, Dietz will provide management to the credit, financial services and construction lending functions of the church loans team.
Prior to joining NAMB, Dietz was senior vice president of Comerica Bank in Houston, Texas, where he managed five commercial lenders servicing $74 million in funded debt. He has also served as vice president of Pacific Southwest Bank in Corpus Christi, Texas, and vice president/commercial lender of Texas Commerce Bank Corpus Christi, NA. Dietz was a trustee of NAMB for the last year, resigning May 6 to join the staff. He is a graduate of Texas Tech University in Lubbock with a bachelor of business administration degree in finance.
Terry Burr has assumed the role of senior accountant in the business services group. In this capacity, he will prepare the agency’s financial statements and work with the agency’s auditors. Since 1996, Burr has been a staff accountant for Adams, Howard & Banks, P.C. in Atlanta. From 1993-96, he was a staff accountant for Georgia Baptist Foundation, Inc., also in Atlanta. He is a graduate of Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, Ga., with a bachelor of business administration degree in accounting.
