[1]ALPHARETTA, Ga. (BP) – The North American Mission Board (NAMB) and church leadership coach Will Mancini have formed a new ministry partnership to help pastors.
“We are so excited to have Will serve as a ministry partner with the NAMB family and mission,” NAMB President Kevin Ezell said Tuesday (Sept. 15). “He brings years of ministry consulting, experience and wisdom. He has helped pastors more effectively live out their unique, God-given callings and unleash a greater evangelistic zeal in their churches.”
Mancini is known not only as a church leadership coach but as a ministry entrepreneur, too.
“I’ve worked with Will Mancini over my many years in local church ministry, and I can’t think of a better and more necessary ministry partnership than NAMB and Will working together,” said Ronnie Floyd, president and CEO of the SBC Executive Committee. “Pastors across North America will be blessed by this new work.”
In addition to Floyd, Mancini has consulted for well-known church leaders such as Steve Gaines, Max Lucado, Vance Pitman and Ken Whitten and has spent more than 10,000 hours with ministries and church teams around the continent, helping them increase their leadership capacity.
“Our church has benefited from Will Mancini’s expertise, and in the world of leadership coaching, he’s one of the best,” said Ken Whitten, senior pastor of Idlewild Baptist Church in Lutz, Fla. “I’m looking forward to seeing the wonderful Kingdom impact of this ministry partnership between NAMB and Will Mancini.”
[2]Mancini graduated from Penn State University with an undergraduate degree in chemical engineering. While in college, he was involved in an international college ministry program, and during his senior year, he felt called to vocational ministry. He went on to earn a Master of Theology degree in pastoral leadership from Dallas Theological Seminary in 1997.
Mancini joined the recently planted Clear Creek Community Church in League City, Texas, which grew rapidly – averaging about 500 new people a year. It was there he learned the importance of intentionally building a culture and communicating a clear vision.
“I became a student of church models,” Mancini said. “We were traveling to different churches learning about their models. But I became increasingly frustrated at how many churches photocopied other churches’ ministries rather than figuring out their unique calling. A ‘holy discontent’ was welling up in me as I watched churches go to what I called ‘cloning conferences’ to copy other churches’ DNA, vision or ministry model.”
Among Mancini’s many church consulting mentors was Dallas Theological Seminary Professor Aubrey Malphurs. The pair went on to co-author the book Building Leaders: Blueprints for Developing Leadership at Every Level of Your Church.
Through his organizations [3], Mancini has continued to help church pastors of all sizes do more of what they do best for the good of others. His ministry partnership with NAMB will continue to help pastors do that and more.
“After nearly two decades and more than 10,000 hours consulting with ministry and church teams, I love it as much as the day I was called to serve this way,” he said. “But honestly, more than anything, I love helping pastors fall in love with ministry again. Their job is hard work – I’ve been there. It’s a joy to help them realize their unique, God-given calling, become more effective in ministry and unleash healthy leaders in their church to do ministry where God has called them.”
Details of a new effort between NAMB and Mancini will be announced September 16.
