NAMB offering free video detailing hurricane relief

ALPHARETTA, Ga. (BP)–A two-and-a-half minute video segment detailing Southern Baptist Disaster Relief efforts in the wake of Hurricane Isabel is available as a free Internet download from the North American Mission Board.

The clip is available from www.namb.net, which also includes a gallery of photos from the Disaster Relief operation.

The response associated with the storm has been the largest in the 37-year history of Southern Baptist Disaster Relief, involving a total of 116 separate units of volunteers since Sept. 18.

Paul Wynn, a video producer for NAMB, said the segment is similar to videos released after the 9/11 terrorist attacks in 2001 and during the war in Iraq earlier this year.

“These videos have received a good response from churches because they could download them easily and turn around and play them in church immediately,” Wynn said. “We thought it would be a good opportunity for churches to show people in congregations what kind of response Southern Baptists are making to the hurricane.”

The video is available for live viewing over the Internet, as well as in a full-resolution MPEG-1 file that is suitable for presentation in churches. It will also be included in a future edition of E-ssentials, a NAMB publication that provides a collection of short video clips for worship services and other uses.
