NASHVILLE, Tenn. (BP)–“Every Day with Jesus,” a special edition of the new Holman Christian Standard Bible designed to encourage Christians to read through God’s Word during 2005, has been released by Broadman & Holman Publishers.

2005 was declared “The Year of the Bible” by messengers to the 2004 Southern Baptist Convention annual meeting last summer in Indianapolis. The resolution encourages Christians to read through the entire Bible, in one year, beginning Jan. 1, 2005, and concluding Dec. 31, 2005.

To support the resolution, Broadman & Holman created the Every Day with Jesus Bible to make it easy and convenient for Christians from all denominations to participate. B&H is the publishing arm of LifeWay Christian Resources.

Available in paperback and hardcover, the edition organizes the full text into 365 daily readings, each containing excerpts from the Old Testament, New Testament, Psalms and Proverbs, and a daily devotional taken from the writings of acclaimed British author Selwyn Hughes.

The complete Holman CSB was released to the public in April 2004, the first all-new Bible translation from a major publisher in more than 25 years. A team of 100 scholars from around the world representing more than 20 different Protestant denominations worked together translating from the original biblical languages of Greek, Hebrew and Aramaic in an undertaking which utilized the latest in scholarship and technology toward a goal of producing the most accurate and readable modern English translation available today.
