HONOLULU (BP)–O.W. Efurd, the former executive director of the Hawaii Pacific Baptist Convention, died Aug. 9. He was 68.
Efurd had been battling double pneumonia and undergoing chemotherapy treatments for several months. Funeral arrangements have not been completed.
He served as associational director of missions for Oahu and as executive director of the Hawaii Pacific Baptist Convention. Prior to his death he was serving as president of the Hawaii Baptist Foundation.
He was founding pastor of Kona Baptist Church and Mililani Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Grace, and two children, Laura and Steve.
